Hello World! (Or my first blog...)
← back to all postsDisplaying the words 'Hello World!' to the screen or console is the first lesson for anyone learning a web development or programming language. It's what I learned when I first began to learn HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
This is my 'Hello World!' post. My first blog. Most people write a blog because they want to give their opinion on a range of issues or pass on expertise on a particular subject. I've started this blog for a different reason. Earlier this year, I learned to display 'Hello World!' on a browser. Since then, I've learned a lot more and learned how much more I still have to learn. I started this blog to give me something to build.
Though the code in the image above is not from this website, I've put all the nuts and bolts of this website together. I've used front-end frameworks (designed to make it easier to put website code together) and I've hard-coded bits myself. It's not perfect. It's probably broken in a lot of places. There will be 404 errors and loading issues; buttons you click might not work; it might look a little bit iffy in places and if you look at it on a different size screen, it may look odd.
If I'd waited until this website was perfect or that I was 'ready' to build something, it's likely that I'd've never got round to it. This blog is another lesson. It will improve and it will get better and it may evolve into other things.
It sounds cliched and it is very corny, but the learning doesn't end with me clicking publish on this post. I will use this blog to share what I've learned as well as musings on other subjects too.

Oh, if you wondered, you need to type:
Hello World!
to display it to the screen.
